The experience of previous projects bears the following lesson: The requirements of laser safety determine to a substantial degree the design and layout of the production set-up. A holistic approach to planning carrying this lesson in mind before the kick-off of a project saves substantial costs. Since seemingly even small changes in the planning can substantially reduce the expense and the cost of laser safety. Additionally, the requirements of the directive on machinery and OStrV are satisfied, which require a written risk assessment for laser safety as basis for planning of a production site.
The implementation of laser safety at later times is regularly more expensive and an optimal solution is not possible.
