Laser safety is not only a technical, organizational and personal issue but also a legal requirement. Mistakes in laser safety, i.e. the compilation of the risk and danger assessment, can bear an unlimited liability for the employer.
In particular, the duties of the laser safety officer are reduced, who is solely a competent person after successfully attending an instruction seminar. However, the laser safety design and the compilation of the risk and danger assessment require an expert person.
The rules and regulations for laser safety, which are enacted in Germany and Europe, have changed, were toughened or are completely new. These rules and regulations are:
European directive on machinery 2006/42/EC enacted since End of 2009
European directive on artificial optical radiation 2006/25/EG enacted since 2010
German regulation on artificial optical radiation (OStrV) enacted since 2010
International standard IEC DIN EN 60825-4:2011-03; Annex D (normative): Proprietary laser guard testing
German Occupational Safety Insurance document: Accident prevention directive: Laser radiation BGB B2
SafetyLas Guard satisfies all these regulations!
